Locally born and raised, Matthew Rone attended UMS-Wright Preparatory School in Mobile, Alabama. He has resided in Baldwin County for over twenty years.
Matthew E. Rone obtained his undergraduate degree from Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina in 1991. He also studied at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland as well as the Austria-American Institute in Vienna, Austria. While at Davidson College, he was named a Bonner Scholar and member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Matthew then attended the University of Alabama School of Law, graduating in 2000, where he was awarded the University of Alabama Federal Tax Clinic Scholarship, the Abraham Franco Merit Scholarship, and an Alabama Public Interest Law Association grant.
Matthew began his legal career with the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office where he had a 100 percent jury trial conviction rate. While at the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office, Matthew also served as local counsel for the Lands Division of the State of Alabama.
Next, Matthew worked for several years with a civil litigation law firm and general practitioner in Baldwin County before opening the Law Office of Matthew E. Rone in 2006 in Fairhope, Alabama.
In addition to being licensed in the State of Alabama in 2000, Matthew is also licensed to practice law in New York and Washington, D.C.
